Nick and Shelly’s engagement session in Richmond at Maymont did not disappoint. Maymont is a beautiful backdrop for romantic engagement photos! We wandered around the Japanese Garden and found lots of little colorful nooks!
While wandering the gardens of Maymont, Nick and Shelly were total naturals in front of the camera. Their kind-hearted and fun personalities shined through their portraits. We chatted about their upcoming Richmond wedding at Virginia Cliffe Inn, their love for game night, and of course their beloved fur-babies. Nick and Shelly have been through several trials during their relationship and if there’s one thing for certain, they are meant to be!
In August they will officially tie the knot! From the first time Shelly inquired, I knew I’d be counting down to the days to this Richmond wedding. Nick and Shelly’s easy-going personalities will make for the most relaxing and fun wedding!

Before we ended their session, we walked to Belle Isle. Nick and Shelly love being by the water whether it’s kayaking or relaxing at the beach or lake. Incorporating a place of meaning is something I always encourage for engagement session. Taking some engagement photos at Belle Isle was a must!!!
Love Nick and Shelly’s photos as much as I do? Here’s another one of my favorite engagement sessions!
