Christian and Emily’s wedding day at The Barn at Timber Creek started off similar to their engagement session– with a daunting summer storm. Before heading out to Farmville, I triple-checked that I had all 10 of my clear umbrellas in the trunk. I was ready for rain or shine to make sure Christian and Emily had portraits outside near the pine trees they loved! 

It was still raining when it was time for them to share their first look. Thankfully, The Barn At Timber Creek has plenty of options for pictures outside where you’re covered from the rain and also has beautiful lighting. The rain magically fell during their first look. This was one of my favorite moments of the day. Emily wiped the tears off Christian’s cheek and the two embraced each other and took in their wedding day.

The post ceremony hugs always bring out the lump in my throat. The excitement, the tears, the joy. These type of moments and emotions are what I treasure to preserve.

Before Emily and Christian joined cocktail hour, we whisked away for some newlywed portraits.

Christian and Emily are incredibly kind and thoughtful. It always impresses me when the bride and groom take the time to give a speech to thank their family and all the people who brought their wedding vision to life. This speaks so much to their character. They are both always thinking of others first. It’s incredibly refreshing to be around!

Rookies was a real crowd pleaser!! The perfect treat for a summer evening!

Emily let me know “icing” Christian during the garter removal was a great note to get the celebration started!! I hadn’t seen this done before and it was so funny!

Emily and Christian, thank you for your trust and friendship. Getting to know you both and capturing your wedding was such a treasure.
