Jack and Haylee’s wedding in Northern Virginia has many beautiful stories that made their day unique and filled with love and joy. With the pandemic lingering, anxiety and stress was high and to quote Haylee “I feel like a chicken running around with my head cut off”. That is the quote that sums up 2020, right?!
Several road bumps leading up to their rustic wedding like having to different wedding WEEKS before their summer wedding (a true wedding nightmare). Thankfully Haylee and Jack found a barn nearby their ceremony site that worked perfectly. What I love MOST about Haylee and Jack (and there’s lots to adore) is their kindness and gratitude towards each other.
I kind of felt like I was living in the dreamiest and most joyous Hallmark movie. Some of my favorite moments were Haylee and Jack opening each other’s gifts- both had the EXACT same reaction. A little bit of tears and a whole lot of thankfulness.
Ready to get chills?
Jack and Haylee have known each other FOREVER. They dated in middle school and Jack gifted Haylee a key necklace back then that is now rusted and unwearable. Jack gave Haylee a new key necklace on Saturday with the note “I gave you the key to my heart in 8th grade and it’s still yours today”.
Beautiful moments like that happened throughout the whole day- Haylee’s twin sister Hope giving a heartfelt toast, Jack and his Mom’s emotional first dance (I was choking back tears), Haylee’s dad dancing with his daughters, & there’s a extra special moment saved for a surprise at the end…
A blog post doesn’t give their wedding story justice, you’ll see what I mean at the end of the blog post… I’m so excited to share with you this little surprise 🤭
Also shoutout to their wedding party- the bridesmaids were so helpful and thoughtful during the getting ready process, everyone braved the heat for beautiful photos, and they brought the dance floor to life!!!!!!
On the way from the ceremony to the reception, we passed Jack and Haylee’s middle school. And of course, we had to stop to take a minute of portraits at the place where their love story began!!!
I think this belongs on the cover of a magazine. Anyone else agree?!
That glow in Northern Virginia is unreal!!! I’m so so thankful we snuck out for 10 minutes for some sunset portraits! They have over DOUBLE the number of portraits because of this. Oh just wait, there’s more keep scrolling to the end and you’ll see my surprise 😉
