There’s no better way to celebrate this milestone in Chris and Amanda’s relationship than by an engagement session at UVA where they met during their days as students! Chris proposed during the Cherry Blossom Festival in April and Amanda reached shortly afterward to schedule an engagement session at The University of Virginia. I love documenting the start of a couple’s legacy in a place that is meaningful!
We walked around the Grounds heading to the iconic places like the Rotunda and the Lawn but also found little beautiful nooks to take their portraits. We even went outside of the classroom where it all started for them. Chris and Amanda’s engagement portraits are a mix of joyful, romantic, and elegant portraits around UVA. The three ingredients for what I consider a perfect engagement session.
The evening truly worked out perfectly. Amanda and I chatted earlier in the day about the weather. In July it can be tough for sessions with random summer evening thunderstorms. We both were traveling to get to Charlottesville and wanted to make it worthwhile. We pushed the time an hour earlier to avoid the storms and we had the best of both worlds- soft clouds for beautiful evenly lit lighting and then the sun came out at the end which made for a wonderful glow.
Chris and Amanda, thank you for a wonderful evening! It was great getting to meet you and reminiscing alongside you of all the wonderful memories held at UVA.
Ending with one of my favorites from the UVA Engagement session.
