What To Wear For A Photoshoot
Any of you ladies stressing out about your photoshoot outfit? I’ve been there too. I figured I would make all our lives easier and compile a list of the best boutiques/stores for when you’re looking for a flowy dress or an outfit for a photoshoot.
But first, two quick tips when picking out your outfit…
- The best colors to wear for photos… avoid neon/bold colors they will reflect onto your skin!!! Many of my brides reach out to me saying they want a photographer that has a bright and airy style. If you’re hoping for light and airy photos, wear light and airy colors! AKA bring on the neutral and pastel colors!
- Long flowy dresses for photoshoots are the way to go!!! A dress that can you can shimmy in and move around in will create more powerful and romantic images!! (You’ll see what I mean in the images below)

Morning Lavender | If you don’t know by now, I am obsessed with maxi dresses. If I could, I would buy all of the dresses at Morning Lavender for photo sessions.
Amazon | I was surprised at the number of my clients who have found incredibly gorgeous dresses from Amazon! The pictures below show my clients wearing their amazon dresses!

Azazie | Azazie is meant for weddings!!!! AKA tons of cute long flowy dresses to choose from for outdoor sessions! I like that Azazie offers dresses that would fit into any budget.
Red Dress Boutique | Red Dress has the world’s greatest flowy dresses of any length. Pssst. Seniors. I bought my graduation dress from here!
Vici Collection | Vici is one of my personal favorites!!! I LOVE their aesthetic and if you’re like me and enjoy leggings but also when it comes time to dress-up you’re all about it… this store is for you chica! I imagine that a ton of seniors would find a dress that they love for their session!
Lulus | Lulus has a little bit of everything for affordable prices! This is one of my go-to websites when I need a new dress for an event.
ASOS | If you’re looking to be unique and to stand out, you will LOVE this store. This site was recommended to me by one of my Instagram friends!
Altar’d State | One of my favorite dresses is from Altar’d State. Their sizing is limited but when you find something, there’s no doubt you will love it. Below is a picture of one of my all-time FAVORITE dresses and it’s from Altra’d State (see what I mean by flowy dresses creating powerful images).

Rent the Runway | Rent the Runway is great if you want to wear a beautiful stylish dress but know that you won’t wear it after the occasion! If used this site before when I have been a wedding guest or going to a formal event, and I have had no issues! In high school, I had friends use this site for homecoming and prom dresses.
Revolve | Revolve would be great for someone wanting to glam things up with a tight, sleek, fashionable dress
Gal Meets Glam | I would say that the name of this boutique is a little deceiving. Some of the dresses are “glam” but I would describe most of the dresses as stylish conservative dresses. I always have a hard time finding a dress without a plunging neckline that is still flattering. If that’s you, this the perfect boutique!!!!
The Blushing Brunette Boutique | One of my seniors (shoutout to Liz) found the cutest flowy dress for her senior session at this boutique in GA.
